Why vote for Edward Hoyt

I'm just your average guy that 10 years ago dove into the Political World. I work everyday speaking to executives around the world about their Telecommunication woe's and how to save their company money in an effective yet green methodology. I come from a very entrenched union family and have saw the value of how the power of the
people can change a stand that is detrimental to the Province. I have watched too many of the people I grew up within Lorneville, Grand-Bay/ Westfield and the rest of our riding become very disenfranchised from the government some to the point of not even bothering to vote in elections. I have sat and spoken with so many people on the issues that effect them I believe I can relate to the voters of this riding and understand their concerns.

We all at one time or another, have sent in for some obscure government form, for whatever reason only to wait six months for something that should have been returned in two days. This the Silo's of bureaucratic duplication need to be addressed and automated properly.

The other thing I find arrogant on the behalf of the MLA is form letters. The MLA can not take 5 minutes out to email or call back someone that elected them. This is one thing I promise that I will do and that is address each person that emails me or calls. I will not say it will always be the answer you want but certainly will say or write my reasoning why I am leaning the specific way on that issue. I will keep an open mind and certainly discuss with the person. Most of us have seen the antics and theatre taking place in the Legislature, behaviour one would expect to see at a elementary school playground.I, for one, am fed up with it. One thing I will say is I do not know everything this is probably the foremost differentiating factor between myself and the other candidates: I admit it. It is not my purpose to try to sell you those answers, especially based on promises I have neither the ability nor the intention of keeping. These are the methods by which the two ruling parties have established their entrenchment upon the government of this Province, and it has resulted in voter apathy and massive mistrust.

My purpose is different. What I offer, instead of false unfounded answers, is my level best effort to understand the questions. To educate myself on the issues to the best of my abilities as I have done consistently for the last 10 years, using every tool at my disposal, and most importantly: to vote upon the issues in a manner reflective of the wishes of the people with my riding. I will not participate in the back-and-forth antics of bickering employed by the current parties, but to listen and to learn, to read and communicate, unencumbered by a Party Line. This was one of my motivating factors from leaving the fold of the PC Party. Rather than blind faith in the words of proven practitioners of deceit, I propose to develop an informed opinion on whatever issue is at hand, and to speak with your voice in mind .I urge you to consider me as a credible alternative to the current style of Politician we have today on the ballot, and I look forward to sharing with you my ideas on how we might make a presence in the Legislature in September.

Edward Hoyt

Independent Candidate Fundy River Valley
